Christmas is all about nostalgia, isn't it? We remember our childhood Christmases and the excitement of opening that special gift. Images of Christmas are from eras gone by, Victorian houses and one-horse open sleighs.
I unearthed a piece of nostalgia that isn't really a romantic memory, but took me back so many years and brought a smile to my face. If you're as old as me and grew up in the Twin Cities, you might remember the show Lunch With Casey. If you remember that, you'll probably remember this wonderful little diddy...
Happy Holidays from Casey Jones and Roundhouse Rodney!

LOL! That was fabulous! I sing that song all the time whenever the real "Winter Wonderland" song comes on! Do you also remember "You can't rollerskate in a buffalo herd" and the one about the toy they couldn't identify but "it went bip when it walked, bop when it stopped and brrrr when it stood still. I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will!" That sort of sums up the whole Casey Jones experience, doesn't it? LOL!
Thanks, Sara! Brought back some great memories of growing up with Casey and Roundhouse Rodney! Do you remember "Catch a Falling Star"? How about the birthday song?
Oh you guys! I'm so glad this brought back some memories. Yes, I remember all of those other songs too. Lunch with Casey was always fun. Walkin' in My Winter Underwear made me laugh the most because he was talking about...underwear! HAHAHAHAHA! That's just too funny for a little kid.
Sara,
I purchased the Lunch with Casey DVD for my husband a few years ago. I got it from the Museum of Broadcasting in St. Louis Park but it can be ordered here also: http://www.lunchwithcasey.com/video_cd.html. I'll let you borrow ours sometime. I loved the onion song.
